QueueFinder helps you find participating businesses, join queues online when available, and follow your turn. Businesses use QueueFinder to run their queues. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the site and service.
Information we collect
When you join a queue, we may handle your name, phone number, venue and queue, ticket status and times, responses to queue updates, and details the business records while serving you. A business decides which details it requires for its queue. You can browse public listings without a QueueFinder customer account.
Business owners and staff provide account and contact details, roles, organisation and venue information. We also handle details supplied for listing, claiming or verifying a business, and public business listing information. If you contact us, we handle your message and contact details.
We handle technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, security logs, and browser storage used to maintain a sign-in or ticket. If you choose nearby search or browser notifications, your browser requests permission for location or notifications; notification subscriptions are saved for delivery.
We count searches submitted or used to choose a result, business listing clicks and requests for a business to offer QueueFinder. Search and click measurements do not store your search text, name, email, raw IP address or a visitor identifier. Daily search and click counts are kept for 12 months; random event identifiers used to prevent duplicate submissions are removed after 24 hours by daily cleanup.
Please avoid entering sensitive information, such as health details, in free-text fields unless it is necessary for the service you request from a business.
How we use it
We obtain information from you, participating businesses, your use of QueueFinder, and relevant business listing and verification sources. We use it to show listings and queue information, manage tickets and customer updates, operate business accounts, deliver notifications, respond to requests, prevent misuse, keep the service secure and understand how it performs.
Business billing and payment information
When you set up paid venues, we handle your organisation and business name, billing country and relevant billing location, selected venues, subscription status, and payment, invoice and refund references, amounts and dates. We use these records to manage paid access, reconcile payments and refunds, assist with billing questions, prevent misuse and maintain financial records.
Stripe and Link handle hosted checkout and payment-method information under their own privacy terms. Full payment-card details are entered through their payment interfaces rather than QueueFinder’s billing form. We exchange the account and transaction information needed to operate and support your subscription. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy for its data handling, including Link.
Stripe and its related providers may process billing information internationally. Financial records have different purposes and retention needs from queue tickets: the queue-ticket cleanup schedule does not mean all billing records are deleted after 12 months. We retain billing information as needed for accounting, legal, security and dispute-resolution purposes. Contact [email protected] with privacy requests; payment-provider records may also require a request to the relevant provider.
How long we keep it
We keep active tickets while needed to operate a queue. Our daily cleanup removes completed, cancelled and no-show tickets, their linked events and push subscriptions after 12 months from closure. Customer profiles are removed when they were created and last edited more than 12 months ago and have no active or recently closed ticket. Other records are kept as needed for their purpose and applicable requirements.
Deletion from the live database does not immediately remove a record from every backup. Our offsite backup destination is a machine in Australia. Scheduled local PostgreSQL backups rotate after roughly 31 full days of file age. Offsite backup maintenance uses a rolling schedule that retains snapshots from the last seven days, plus up to 30 daily, 12 weekly and 12 monthly snapshots. An older snapshot may retain information until that snapshot expires. We restrict ordinary queue access to backup copies.
Security and your choices
We use access controls and operational safeguards to protect information. Keep your ticket links and account credentials private. You can adjust location and notification permissions in your browser or device, and provide optional details only where you choose; a business may require some details to issue a ticket.
Access, correction and complaints
To request access to or correction of personal information we hold, or to make a privacy complaint, email [email protected]. Give us enough detail to locate the relevant record and verify your request; please do not send identity documents unless asked through an appropriate channel. We will assess and respond to your request and explain any refusal. We may coordinate with the business that operates the queue where it holds the relevant information.
If you are dissatisfied with our response to a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Business listing removal requests
If you represent a business, you can request that it be hidden from QueueFinder search using the business listing removal contact details. We handle your message, contact details and information needed to verify your authority and assess the request.
For approved removals, we retain a minimal listing identifier, removal status and administrative history to keep the listing hidden and manage any later restoration. Request correspondence is kept as needed to resolve the request and related complaints. Search removal does not change a Google Maps listing, close a QueueFinder account or delete queue records; those requests are assessed separately.
Changes and contact
We will update the date on this page when we change this policy. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
